We wrapped up our SECOND-TO-LAST week of Summer Inspiration camps, and WOW... what a blast it was! It’s hard to believe that next week is our FINAL WEEK of camps! Time really does fly when you're having fun!

The family of Kayden Weathers will host a balloon release on Friday, July 10th, at 5:00 p.m. at Putnam County High School. We invite our school family and community to come together to honor the life and memory of Kayden.
During this difficult time, we continue to keep the Weathers family in our thoughts and prayers. We hope this gathering will provide an opportunity for our community to unite, reflect, and celebrate Kayden's life.

Hello War Eagles! My name is Jennifer McKelvey, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the PCMS family. I’ve been teaching ELA in Cobb County for the last eight years, both middle and high school. I absolutely love teaching literature. This summer my family embarked on a new adventure and left the Atlanta traffic and moved to Lake Country. We LOVE Lake Oconee. We have five children ranging from 33 to 18. We also have two rescue dogs and two persnickety cats. Besides the lake, we also love football! However, with a son that graduated from UGA and two sons at Alabama, college football can get stressful. I’m looking forward to a fantastic year, and I can’t wait to meet my new students. Roll Tide and Go Dawgs!

I am originally from Waycross, Georgia, and earned my Bachelors degree in Music Education from Valdosta State University. I have been teaching music for 11 years and am currently pursuing a Masters degree in Music Education. I am passionate about helping students grow in their musical abilities, confidence, and creativity, and I look forward to building meaningful relationships with students and families while creating a positive, engaging, and supportive band program. I am thrilled to begin this new chapter at PCMS and can’t wait to make music together!

Nick McLean is excited to return home as an Assistant Principal at Putnam County Middle School. As a graduate of Putnam County High School, he is proud to serve the community that helped shape him. After high school, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership, and an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia College & State University.
Nick has spent the past 17 years working in education. During that time, he has served both as a teacher and coach, working with students in the classroom and through athletics while helping them develop confidence, accountability, and teamwork. Most recently, he taught at Claxton High School, where he also led programs focused on improving student accountability and attendance.
Outside of school, Nick enjoys spending time with his family, following college football and other sports, and tackling home improvement projects. He is honored to have the opportunity to serve the Putnam County community.

Hello, my name is Sha’Kecia Mitchell, and I am excited to begin my first year in education. I graduated from Columbus State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. I have a passion for performing and singing, and I enjoy building meaningful relationships with students. I look forward to creating a positive learning environment where scholars feel supported, encouraged, and inspired to grow. I am excited to work with your scholar and make this school year a successful and memorable one.
Hey everyone! My name is Mrs. Rowland. I'm so excited to begin my first year teaching middle school in Putnam County! While this is my first year in middle grades, I've previously worked with elementary-aged students and can't wait for this new adventure.
I earned my bachelor's degree from Georgia Southern and I'm currently working toward my masters there, as well. My husband, Philip, is an EMT, and together we have a precious 9-month-old son. We recently bought our first home in Putnam County and are so excited to be part of this wonderful community!
When I'm not in the classroom, you'll usually find me watching NASCAR, cheering on Georgia football, or catching up on reality TV. I can't wait for a fun and successful school year!

I am deeply passionate about helping students grow into confident readers, thoughtful writers, and curious thinkers. I strive to create a classroom environment that feels welcoming and supportive, where students feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and truly enjoying the learning process.
