Partnering Together as We Close Out the School Year

As we begin preparing to close out the school year, we are asking for your continued partnership to help us finish strong and keep our focus on learning, safety, and positive behavior.

Please review the important reminders below with your child:

• Cell Phones: Students should continue to keep cell phones in their book bags throughout the school day. Any cell phones confiscated from now until the end of the school year will require parent pick-up.

• Behavior Expectations & End-of-Year Activities: Any student who receives a discipline referral which results in ISS, OSS, or Alternative school, starting tomorrow through May 22 will not be permitted to participate in end-of-year festivities, including grade-level field days and award ceremonies.

• Awards Invitations: Invitations for 6th and 7th Grade Honor’s Ceremonies were sent home last week. Please check with your child to ensure an invitation was received. As we continue pushing toward academic success for all students, letters were sent home over Spring Break to students who have not yet met promotion criteria and have been recommended to attend Summer ELO. These letters include important information about our Summer Extended Learning Opportunity (Summer ELO), which provides additional instructional support to help students meet required promotion expectations. Please return the correspondence if you plan for your child to attend Summer ELO. UPDATE: Summer ELO will be held for Putnam County Middle School students at Putnam County Elementary School. Below is an overview of upcoming events and key dates for the remainder of the school year.
